Artist Statement
"My pictorial work explores daily scenarios of everyday life represented in portraits and their environment; of people mostly women who come from photo albums, public archives that; without visual fragmentation, suggest personal chronicles.
The historiographies of my paintings are personal reflections, historical narratives of portraits that tell their own stories giving a visual value to the woman who has been interpreted countless times for her power in history.
My paintings include portraits of women with intimate items or objects; in rooms or in stereo spaces where floral patterns of wallpaper underlie that collect anecdotally emotional brushstrokes.
The neo-figuration of my portraits is nothing more than my love for figurative painting versus abstraction."
